Dave LaRussa

Dave was with KWFM from September 1979 through July 1981, both as air talent and Assistant Music Director.

At KWFM Dave followed Bob Cooke weekdays from 10 PM to 2 AM. On Tuesdays, Dave hosted his "Anything That's Rock 'n Roll" program, a show he originally created in Buffalo at WBUF. The show featured the latest new wave, punk, and powerpop releases as well as vintage music and any Tucson band that submitted a tape. Dave's efforts promoted alternative Tucson bands such as the Serfers (aka Green On Red), the Pills, Giant Sandworms, Phantom Limbs and many more. Check out a few of Dave's shows in our "Tune In" section.

Dave was born and raised in Tonawanda, New York. He got his start in professional radio in the mid 1970s.

Since 1990 Dave has been with University of Arizona's NPR-affiliate KUAT/KUAZ, where he played jazz until 2003 keeping Tucson's music scene progressive. Most recently, he has been hosting "Morning Edition" on KUAZ.
