Apr 1, 04 | Charles Bevel | Meet Mississippi Charles Bevel | Overheard | | I heard this on Karen Stern's show one afternoon in 1980. Rare tune,
rare artist. Not the standard fare of your typical AOR station. — Tim Warden | Dec 19, 10 | Cowboy | Boyer & Talton | A Patch & A Pain Killer | | | Apr 9, 04 | Dave Mason | Alone Together | Shouldn't Have Took More Than You Gave | | | Feb 10, 06 | David Bowie | | I am a DJ | | | Feb 10, 06 | Eddie Money | | Two Tickets to Paradise | | from Cassette | Aug 12, 24 | Fairport Convention | Liege and Lief | Matty Groves | | i remember this Album from 1973 playing late one night after midnight
and was immediately hooked on the group. I still have them on my
playlist to this day. I worked the communications mid watch at Davis
Monthan FD and always enjoyed your playlists! — Michael McNerney | Aug 29, 06 | Flash and the Pan | Lights in the Night | Walking in the Rain | | In the summer of 1979, one of KWFM's DJs (I cannot recall whom)
previewed this song or one of the others that would be frequently
played on the station. He prefaced the playing of sme of the songs by
explaining the artists' real names (Vander and Young), that they had a
very popular and recognizable hit in the 60s as the group the
Easybeats..."Friday on my Mind", and that they were producing the then
relatively new band ACDC. That is where the Young of the pair comes in.
I later retrieved the above information for I had forgotten it or was
not paying close enough attention at the time. What I do remember is
that I had never heard this megaphone "rap" style before or since.
Perhaps Puffy (or Diddy) will catch on and steal this music as he has
done in his career. Anyway,it rocks musicaly and lyrically. — tman | Feb 10, 06 | Flash in the Pan | | down among the dead folks | | down among the dead folks
| Dec 19, 10 | Fleetwood Mac | Mystery To Me | Hypnotized | | | Feb 11, 06 | Foreigner | | Damage is done | | | Sep 5, 12 | Frank Zappa | Apostrophe | Don't Eat the Yellow Snow, Nanook Rubs It | | I remember hearing this once or twice around Christmas or New Year's,
maybe in 1978. It just goes with the season so well! — Tim | Apr 1, 04 | Frank Zappa | Zoot Allures | Disco Boy | | Every bit as avant garde as Mr. Zappa, Bob Cooke spun this disco bashing
tune after announcing a "first" on KWFM : a cut from a recent Bee Gees
album. The later was ceremoniously destroyed, the diamond noisily
raked across the vinyl. — Tim |
