NOTE: At the end of 1969, CKLW decided to forgo the usual Top 100
songs of the year and instead presented the Top 100 Of The
Sixties. Fifty one and a half years later, CKLW music
researcher David Kelly has meticulously gone through all 52
weekly 1969 CKLW Big 30 charts and using an inverse point
system reflecting highest chart position, weeks on chart and
other criteria based strictly on the weekly charts, tabulated
an objective CKLW Top 100 of 1969. This was bought into by
former CKLW DJ Charlie OBrien who streamed the countdown
online at Big8Radio over this past July 4th weekend. Although
not official, its based solely on the 52 weekly charts
and as close to official as well ever likely see.
